Dr. Charmaine Johnson, Fort Lauderdale Dentist
Dr. Charmaine Johnson graduated from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa with honors in 1995. She continued her advanced dental education by completing a general practice residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago where she was the chief resident from 2000-2001. This entailed advanced dental treatment on hospital based patients, medically compromised patients, and implant dentistry. Dr. Johnson has maintained a private general dental practice in Chicago and more recently in South Florida. She is the author of several published research articles involving advance dental treatment and has retained faculty positions at the University of Illinois at Chicago as well as Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, and the Broward County Dental Association. Dr. Johnson is a site visitor for the American Dental Association's Accreditation Commitee which accredits dental residency programs.
Dr. Johnson's goal is to help you achieve optimum dental health and give you a lasting, beautiful smile. By taking advantage of her recommendations in preventative, restorative and cosmetic care, she can give you a smile that will last a lifetime. The office is equipped with the state of the art equipment. This includes a laser for teeth and gum treatment, intra-oral camera, a Casey teaching system, and in-office laser bleaching. Dr. Johnson also offers oral sedation for the dental phobic patients. Dr. Johnson uses disposable products whenever possible, which are discarded after one use such as needles, suction and irrigating syringes. All other products and instruments are sterilized in a hospital grade autoclave. This autoclave is monitored every time it is operated and is tested weekly with in-house bacterial indicators. The autoclave is also checked every 3 months by an outside spore testing company. You will always see masks, gloves and protective eyewear. Dr. Johnson cares about your health and safety.
